Obituary for Ronette Joy Finnegan (Johnson)

Ronette Joy Finnegan (Johnson)
Ronette Joy Finnegan was born on January 12, 1945 to Clinton and Iona (Hanson) Johnson in Cokato, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith, attended Cokato Elementary School and graduated from Cokato High School. After graduation Ronette attended St. Cloud State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in History and Secondary Education. She moved to Minneota where she began teaching at the Minneota Public High School and also met her future husband, Ed.
On October 26, 1968 Ronette was united in marriage to Ed Finnegan at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. They made their home in Minneota where they raised their children. Ronette later worked with Ed at Finnegan’s Super Valu in Minneota.
Ronette loved quilting, playing cards, board games, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. She devoted her life to spending time with their son, Nick.
On Saturday, August 29, 2015 Ronette passed away under hospice care at her cabin on Lake Cochrane at the age of 70.
She is survived by her husband Ed Finnegan of Minneota; her mother Iona Johnson of Cokato; three children Anjanette (Christopher Alme) Finnegan of St. Paul, Anthony (Karin) Finnegan of Plymouth, and Nicholas Finnegan of Marshall; four grandchildren Aidan and Liam Alme, and Brendan and Kieran Finnegan; two brothers Robert Stevens, and Dennis Johnson; two sisters Diane Dodge, and Beatrice Jones; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Clinton Johnson and brother-in-law Dale Dodge.
Blessed be her memory.
