I have many memories with my Grandpa, one of my favorite things to remember about him was my 2nd grade "Grandparent's Lunch" at my old elementary school in Marshall. Grandma and Grandpa ate with me and my friends in the cafeteria and afterwards it was time for recess. Grandpa must have had some kind of "Frosty the Snowman" magic because every single kid in my class was SO entertained by him in the school yard. We played King of the hill and tag and for some reason they gave my Grandpa the nickname "Sonny"...thinking back on him I can only guess it was because that was one of his many affectionate nicknames for people he cared for. This time he got to be the one called "Sonny" and I of course took it as a huge compliment, my Grandpa was the BEST and everyone agreed! To this day I still know he is the best Grandpa anyone could have and I'll miss him so much, but will never forget the joy and happiness he brought to those around him both young and old.
