Condolence From: Mary Jo Dierickx
Condolence: Along with my sisters, Charlene and Virginia, I too have many fond memories of Gina being a part of our family. If memory serves me right (not always), she had designated days of the week for household chores. Cleaning one day, laundry another and baking on a different day. I remember how much I anticipated getting home from school on her baking days, and being greeted by the smell of orange and cinnamon rolls and fresh baked bread. I learned a great deal about housekeeping from Gina, and remember her as a gentle and loving soul. My sympathies to the DeMeyer family.

Condolence From: Virginia Dierickx Brown
Condolence: Thoughts and prayers are with the DeMeyer family today. Regina was a huge part of my early years. Growing up on the family Ghent farm, Gina frequently helped my mother care for my younger siblings, plus freezing and canning vegetables. When the family went on a Colorado camping trip in 1960, Gina stayed on the farm caring for the two youngest Dierickx children. We moved to Colorado later that year. In 1961 when mom was expecting her sixth child, Gina flew to Denver to help in every imaginable way. One year later we moved back to Marshall. That's when Gina really stepped up. She came to work in our home every Monday morning and stayed until Friday night. She never called in sick, was never late, always wore a dress, was gentle and kind, always cheerful and happy. I can still hear her giggle. She made *the best* home made bread, cinnamon rolls, cream puffs, cakes, and always a delicious dinner. She did our laundry. She read us bedtime stories, she shared a bedroom with my two sisters. When the youngest boys were napping, Gina did the ironing while watching the daily soaps. She kept us informed about "Search for Tomorrow," "As the World Turns," and "The Guiding Light."

I skipped school one day during my senior year of high school. My boyfriend took me on an adventure to Mankato. Gina had the unpleasant task of receiving a call from the principal stating I was absent. I arrived home at the usual time after school. Gina was torn between keeping my secret or informing her boss (my mother!) that I had played hooky. Needless to say, I was in big trouble. I still regret the pain my bad behavior caused Gina.

Her sterling character made a difference in our lives. She was our guiding light. We love you Gina. Rest in peace.

Condolence From: Charlene Dierickx Kramer
Condolence: Gina took care of me and my siblings for many years and was like a second Mother to me. I remember her very fondly. She was a wonderful caregiver, lady and friend with a large smile and heart. Her family is in my thoughts and prayers.
