Obituary for Randal "Randy" Alan Bahn
Randal “Randy” Alan Bahn was born on May 23, 1959, in Sioux Falls, SD, to Marvin and Janet (Woelber) Bahn. The family lived in Pipestone and moved to Marshall when Randy was six. He grew up, attended school and graduated from Marshall High School. On June 14, 1980, he was married to Julie DeSmet. Randy worked for Hy-Vee, Frito Lay, and most recently for Southwest Minnesota State University and First Lutheran Church. He was an entrepreneur and was part owner of the Valley Discount Liquor Store in Green Valley. Randy was a passionate person and dedicated himself completely to all of his endeavors. He was an avid firearm enthusiast and somewhat obsessive about the Andy Griffith show. He was a true and loyal friend and was also a dedicated and proud husband, father, grandfather and son.
Randy died on Friday, June 23, 2017, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD due to liver disease and associated complications. He is survived by his wife, Julie, of Marshall, son Dallas Bahn of Denver, grandson Graysen, daughter Alissa (and Andrew) Peterson of Byron, MN, granddaughter Adelyn, and parents Marv and Jan Bahn of Marshall.
