History of Our Firm

Joseph C. Rehkamp moved to Marshall in 1930 to work for the Middleton Funeral Home. In 1938, he purchased the A.L. Soucy Funeral Home and renamed it Rehkamp Funeral Home. The home has been located at 411 West Lyon Street since 1946. Paul and Jack Rehkamp purchased the Nordquist and Bourgeois Funeral Home in Minneota in 1971. Quinn Horvath joined the staff in 1992, and in 2004 the firm was renamed Rehkamp & Horvath Funeral Directors. Paul Rehkamp, Jack Rehkamp, Quinn Horvath, Shirley Kerkaert and Kelly Thomas specialize in both traditional and contemporary funeral services, pre-arranged, pre-funded and after-care services.

	A shot of the original building after its conversion in the 40s. Joe Rehkamp purchased what used to be a Lutheran Church and re-modeled the building when materials became available after World War II. Eventually a chapel was added on North 5th St, and in 1987, our current entryway was added to include handicap accessable restrooms and an elevator.
