Bud died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.

Bud was born to John and Clara (Wittry) Pape on February 22, 1922 at their farm near Vesta, MN.  In 1941, the family moved to a farm north of Marshall where Bud lived and farmed for 40 years.

In 1945, Bud married Beatrice Blanchette.  From this union, six children were born:  Judy, Jim, Robert, Timmy, Tammy, and Brenda.

In 1980, Bud married Leona Fransen, retired from farming and moved to Marshall in 1981.

Bud enjoyed playing cards at the Marshall Senior Center, fishing with his friend Willis, reading many different newspapers, magazines and books, and also following the Minnesota Twins.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leona, three of his children:  Timmy, Robert and Tammy and two sisters:  Betty Hoflock and Annabel Turbes.

Survivors include his children:  Jim Pape of St. Paul, Judy (Art) Taylor of Eau Claire, WI, and Brenda (Steve) Mikel of Marshall; his grandchildren:  Dawn Wills, Brandon Como, Nick (Jenny) Como, Amanda (Aaron) Schroeder, Ashley Mikel, and Beau Mikel; and two great-grandchildren:  Mariah and Nathan Como.  He is also survived by his sister, Marge Verdeck, of Marshall.

     May he rest in peace.

We are sorry for your loss. Bud was a great guy. I remember him helping out my family on the farm when I was a kid. He will be missed.
